This artwork delves into the profound narrative of an angel who, regrettably, succumbed to a series of poor choices while under the influence of alcohol, ultimately leading to her exile from the heavenly realm. The sculpture aims to evoke a visceral sense of horror and remorse emanating from the angel's being. Trapped in the grip of her past decisions, her wings remain burdened, unable to ascend. She finds herself bound to the cold, desolate ground, accompanied solely by her haunting nightmares.

For me, this piece serves as a poignant expression of emotions drawn from personal experiences. Throughout my life, I have been intimately familiar with the chaos that alcohol can inflict, as I, too, have confronted my own share of regrets. However, it was a recent drunken accident that inflicted deep wounds upon a cherished relationship, leaving me in a dark, introspective place. It was during this period of profound introspection and healing that the concept of the Crying Angel took shape in my mind, providing me with a focused purpose to persevere.

Crafted diligently using Zbrush over the course of several weekends, this sculpture represents my inaugural venture into a multitude of new sculpting techniques. While my artistic background has predominantly revolved around depicting animals and creatures, delving into the complexities of female anatomy, human emotions, intricate hair, and feathered wings presented an exhilarating learning curve.
