About

I am a Games Art Lecturer specialising in 3D character creation and human anatomy, with a focus on digital sculpting in ZBrush. My work centres on understanding form, structure, and surface, and applying that knowledge to create believable and production-ready characters.

I currently teach across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supporting students in developing both their artistic skills and their approach to working within a real-time pipeline. My teaching is shaped by a strong interest in artistic anatomy, practical workflows, and building confidence through structured practice.

I hold an MA with Distinction in Games Art from Manchester Metropolitan University and a BSC in Computer Animation and Visual Effects from Leeds Beckett University.

This portfolio showcases selected work focused on anatomy studies and character development.

Experience

  • Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University
    Manchester
    October 2022 - Present

As a Higher Education Instructor with a specialization in 3D character

creation, I deliver innovative game art practices to both BA and MA

students. My expertise in industry-standard software such as Zbrush,

Maya, and Substance Painter allows me to provide comprehensive training

    on various techniques.

During my tenure, I successfully developed and taught a comprehensive

course "Sculpting Human Anatomy within Zbrush." The course delved into

the fundamental principles of Zbrush and explored the intricate details

of artistic human anatomy, including the works of previous and current

anatomical masters to emphasize the importance of its use in the current

industry. The ultimate objective of the course was to develop

industry-ready characters of any species and style for multimedia

    platforms.

In addition to this, I have conducted a series of lessons focused on

Rigging, including the assessment of functionality, joints, controls,

groups/hierarchy and painting weights/influences. The course also

involved Retopologizing, UV-Wrapping, High to low resolution (normal

baking), and Animation; max range of motion and Character sequences

    (ideal, dancing ect).

As an instructor, my greatest achievement has been witnessing the

exponential growth of my students in creativity and confidence. It gives

me immense pride to be part of their journey towards professional

    success.
